Big fantasy nerds, this is our time to shine!

Community Cork Board

Today on the cork board:

  • Gawr Gura is graduating. I sad (╥﹏╥)

Any Hololive or vtuber fans want to chat? Send me an email ([email protected]), or message me on my janky Instagram I just made (@blue.nachos). It’s hard to find Holo fans in the real world.

Earlier this month at the Geek & Grub Market, I had a chance to chat briefly with Jeffrey Kass, the mind behind the Festival of Legends. He described it as “part fairy festival, part renaissance fair,”and from what I’ve seen, it’s shaping up to be exactly that.

One group you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for: the Goblin Embassy. Jeff emphasizes that the festival welcomes everyone, so if goblins make you nervous, this might be your chance to see them in a new light and maybe even befriend one.

And I met one of their famous dragons! They’re just as majestic as you’d hope, and absolutely worth seeking out during the festival.

So don’t forget to attend next weekend in Holly Springs. And feel free to wear a fun medieval or fantasy costume. I’ve been working on mine this week. See you there!

One of the dragons, whose name escapes me.

There are some BIG changes coming to NERD GATE Southeast, and I’ll be sharing an update soon. If you know someone who loves nerd culture in NC, this is the time to share the newsletter with them! And thank you for reading. I’m excited for what’s next.
