Heroes Convention
Charlotte, NC – June 20-22, 2025 | Official website
This is a comic-first convention made for true comic book aficionados. And it’s family-friendly.
If you’re feeling a little burned out on today’s cosplay-centric, movie-and-gaming-heavy cons, this event offers a refreshing return to fandom roots. Even their website feels like a love letter to 20th-century comics, and it’s just the thing to pull you into that headspace.
Cost: $30-$35 day pass, $75 weekend, $150 VIP
Free for ages 16 & under.
Address: Charlotte Convention Center, 501 S College St, Charlotte, NC 28202
Cosplay America
Cary, NC – June 20-22, 2025 | Official website
If, on the other hand, you live for cosplay, Cosplay America may be for you. The website boasts it’s “the first East Coast Convention dedicated to all aspects and genres of Cosplay.”
The event is full of workshops, panels, and networking for cosplayers of all levels. Just be ready to pay a bit of money here. Many (maybe all?) workshops require preregistration and payment. Full details can be found during the registration process via the register page.
At the time of writing this, signing up for the full weekend + all not sold out workshops comes out to about $600.
Cost: $50-$90 registration. Workshops extra.
Address: Embassy Suites Hotel, 201 Harrison Oaks Boulevard, Cary, NC 27513

Registration for the event is done by timed entry passes. You can choose your type of entry (general, VIP, family) and entry time slot during registration.
Cost: $18 (single entry) to $78 (family pass).
Address: Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S Salisbury St Raleigh, NC 27601
There’s a good mix of nerdy events happening the rest of the month, whether you want comics, Lego, or cosplay. Also keep an eye out on GalaxyCon news. They’ve been announcing some great guests lately 👀
